*contest now closed!!* Capri Sun $250 Visa Gift Card Giveaway!!

*This is a compensated review from BlogHer and Capri-Sun.*

Having 3 kids makes life a tad bit crazy. When my school-aged kids wake up in the morning, chaos ensues. Breakfast needs to be made, lunches made, the toddler's needs are screamed out at me and Hubby gets to shuttle everyone off in the right direction.

Luckily my oldest lives by her alarm clock, but my sluggish second child needs a bit more incentive. What helps keep our rountine in line is the menus for the day. Breakfast food set and ready, lunch prep made simple and easy. We look for brands we can trust at the grocery store. Brands that offer nutrition as well as convenient packaging are always tossed in the cart.

Long gone are the days where we have time to fill a thermos and toss that bulky thing into a lunch bag. My kids are Capri Sun drinkers. The pouch is the right amount of juice so satisfy their thirst, and the price for a box of 10 is unbeatable at any store! The pouches are perfect for their lunch pails and Capri Sun is a name our family can trust.

Capri Sun Sunrise is the new, wholesome morning drink for kids chock full of Vitamin C and calcium.
- A good source of calcium
- 100% Daily Value Vitamin C
- The pouch kids love

There are 3 new flavors of Capri Sun Sunrise, Berry Tangerine Morning, Tropical Morning, and Orange Wake Up. My 3 children loved the Orange Wake Up best, while I enjoyed the taste of Berry Tangerine Morning.

Thanks to BlogHer and Capri-Sun Sunrise you can enter to win a $250 Visa Gift Card!!

My morning routine includes checking my email, getting my daughter dressed and changed (she's 9 months old) and letting her watch Signing Time while I take a shower.

My routine daily consists of thw following:

1) 1 of 3 cats makes terrible racket or sticks paws in ouchie places to wake us up.

2) look hatefully at wife as she gets to sleep in longer than for 1 hour.

3) take shower

4) feed angry monsters (cats) after narrowly missing being tripped and breaking neck after shower.

5) dress

6) search for keys, get tripped by cat

7) drive to work.

Our routine that includes "the pouch" is mostly at sports activities. They all pack their snacks in the frig the night before and after school, I have their snacks all ready for their next activity.

My daughter most of the time likes to take a shower the night before so she can sleep a little more in the morning.
If she is being sleepy in the morning I make sure when I come in to wake her up she puts her feet on the floor. That way she is mostly up. I then watch the morning news and have a bowl of cereal ready for her. If shes running late I put her cereal in a dixie cup with a plastic spoon so that she can eat it on the bus.

As a working mom of four, a timed morning routing is of the essence. It is easier now that my kids are older though, thank goodness. I get up a 5:35 am, make coffee, wake up my youngest for his shower (he's grumpy without one), if he's not out by 6:00 knock on the door and let him know it's time, when he gets our I wake up my 12 year old daughter and holler for my 15 year old son, my 17 year old awakens by herself. They all brush their teeth, get ready and gather homework and the such, usually one of them saying "oh I forgot you need to sign this", or my favorite "I need some money for this or that". At exactly 6:36 they are out the door for the bus, I have a half hour to spend with my husband who is disabled and then I get ready for work. Boy life is FUN! I wouldn't trade them for the world though, they grow up way too fast!

Does a cat count as kids? He wakes me up at 5:30 every morning and plays with stuff until I shut him out of the room or just get up. If it's the first one, I crawl back into bed until my alarm goes off at 6:00 & then I struggle through a shower, figuring out what to wear & getting him food / water & then I stumble out the door at 6:30 & head to work, generally forgetting my lunch & as for breakfast, well, forget about that. Normally I just combine the two and find someting to eat during my break or wait until I get home that evening.

I pick out her clothes, set out her toothbrush and hair brush before trying to get her up. I walk in, start opening up the blinds gently then sit on her bed and rub her back while I sing to her. By the time I'm done singing, she's smiling and ready to get up. We turn on the light and I start talking about all the fun things she'll get to do that day.

A deafening blast from my FM radio jolts me from blissful sleep. I roll out of bed and stumble into my 10 year old daughter's room and silently rock her shoulders back and forth as I use my other hand to rub my face in a meager attempt to wake myself up. Once my daughter is awake, I lay her clothes on her bed and proceed to the bathroom. My morning bathroom trip is usually interrupted by my cranky 3 year old son who starts crying from his room. Determined to make my daughter catch the school bus, I hurry and gather my son up and rush downstairs to finish making my daughter's lunch (the same one that didn't get finished last night because of all the laundry, cooking, dishes, ect from the night before). As a finishing touch to her lunch, I throw in an ice cold Capri-Sun. A loud thumping alerts me that my daughter is coming down the stairs so I grab her a bowl of cereal. I then delicately prepare the only breakfast my picky son will eat (a pop tart). As I am peeling back the pop tart's wrapper, I look down the street and see the bus making its way towards my house. Quickly, I grab my daughter's book bag and send her down the driveway to catch the bus. I will spare you, the reader, the drama that often unfolds as I attempt to get my toddler ready for daycare ;) Ahhhh, life as a single mother is great. You don't need to diet or work out, your daily routine is plenty to keep those unsightly pounds off!

My morning routine is I get woken up by Charlotte (my 6 month old) anywhere from 5am to 6:30am. I change her diaper, feed her, and then put her in her swing. Brush my teeth and shower. Pump my milk. If it's a work day then I get my lunch together and eat breakfast. Feed the dogs and cat. Feed Charlotte again. It's pretty easy going and laid back. I'm sure all that will change as Charlotte gets older...lol.

I don't have kids but I have a new puppy which is almost the same thing I've come to learn haha

We wake up at 5:45..it takes her about 10 minutes to come to, unlike me who's ready to jump out of bed.. then I take her outside for 15 minutes so she doesn't ruin my rugs. Then I carry her food bowls and bed into the bathroom as I shower (she's a 6 lb chihuahua and I have staircases and drops in my house so I don't like to leave her unattended). Then we lug all the stuff back upstairs where I change and get ready for the day. Then into the crate she goes =)

an absolute must is to make sure the backpack is packed up the night before with snacks, and that all paperwork that needs to go back to school is in there. I also make sure my daughter has an extra set of clothes in her backpack-just in case. I also have her choose her outfit the night before-a BIG time saver! Morning time is usually rushed, especially when I am working-so every little bit helps! (We love Capri Sun-esp Strawberry Kiwi so was very happy to see their new morning beverage, I am going to look for it in the stores for sure!)

My morning routine is nuts! I get up around 7ish and turn the TV on in my boys room. They are 5 and 4, one is a kinder the other pre K. Torture ensues after I get the TV on. I try to wake them up as gently as possible so they don't start throwing temper tantrums and wake my 10 month old up. Once they are somewhat awake I get them dressed and send them to the bathroom. If I am lucky I have time to get them a quick bite and a glass of milk before the bus comes at 8:15. I do this as quietly as possible or all things are done while holding my 10 month old and entertaining him.

Needless to say- I can't wait until summer!

My tip is to have everything ready to go the night before. I get my kids up at 5:30, have them eat breakfast, and then get dressed while I am showering and getting dressed. Homework was already done the night before and put in the backpacks so there is no searching for things in the morning. We are extra hurried in the mornings because I go to school with them since I'm a teacher.

I start at 7:00 am tell my girls to Rise and shine- as they routinely get ready for school I start their breakfast.... they eat I check their backpacks and they are off!!!! come around 9:30 I awake my littlest one- My boy!!!! I get him ready for the day - take him next door to the sitter then I am off to school usually for the next 4.5 hrs.!!!

My morning routine varies, depending on if my husband and I are working that day or not. On the mornings both hubby and I work, the kids have spent the night with grandparents the night before because we must both leave so early (he's an EMT, I'm an RN so we work weird hours). On the days I'm off, it's usually a mad rush around my house. My kids are hard to wake up, I HATE getting up early, so we sleep til the last possible minute, grab a granola bar and eat breakfast in the car and RUSH off to school just before the bell rings! I don't have any morning advice - I NEED morning advice! LOL

The Mommy said...

Our morning routine works pretty well since we only have one kid right now - we all get dressed and have breakfast before packing up and heading out. We're expecting baby #2 so I know that will mess everything up! I also keep trying to be better about packing lunches the night before, but so far I haven't gotten that organized!

I have a 6 year old and a 9 month old. Usually, the 9 month old wakes me up at 6:30am. I make a pot of coffee and he gets his breakfast. After that I make breakfast for my 6 year old and get him up. I get my shower done and get ready. My husband, children and myself eat as a family most days. After that my six year old brushes his teeth, gets dressed and usually tries to catch the last 15 minutes of Curious George on PBS :) I then get him off to school, my 9 month old to the babysitters and myself to work, dad goes to work too. Its a busy morning everyday!

My morning routine is not so much a routine. Usually nurse the baby around 6:30 and hope she falls back asleep for an hour until my toddler wakes up around 7:30. Both kids cuddle with me in bed for a few minutes (my husband is usually off to work by now). When we finally drag ourselves out of bed we change diapers and sit down for breakfast. I get my boys up at 6:40 in the morning for school. They head right to the kitchen for breakfast and while they are eating, I get out their clothes. As soon as they are done eating, they head in to brush their teeth and wash their faces and then they get dressed (they are still young enough to take their showers at night, which is nice so we don't have that added time consumer in the mornings). They make sure everything is in their backpacks and then I comb their hair. We have to be out of the house by 7:35 and they know that if they get everything done and have any extra time, they can watch t.v. until it's time to go. That gives them incentive and they are usually ready with at least 15 minutes to spare that they can use to watch t.v. and just relax before we head off to school. This also gives me time to sit and have a cup of coffee before we head out, so it makes our mornings nice.

Then I watch Joyce Meyer and after her program I read the word. Eat breakfast and exercise. The rest of the day is housework and internet (usually). On weekends i go to work. GOOD LUCK EVERY1 !

My daughter is three and doesn't go to school yet, so we have a pretty leisurely routine - I am so lucky.

We get up about eight and go down for breakfast. Most days we have cold cereal, but sometimes oatmeal or eggs.
Then we head back upstairs to get dressed for the day.

We love to sing Good Morning - the song from Singin' in the Rain or Wake Up, Wake Up from Lazytown.

My morning routine varies: some days I have to be to work (at a daycare) the girls come with me, and so we have to get up early, force them out of bed, get dressed, and then head to daycare, eat breakfast at daycare. Other days they can sleep-in, slowly wake-up, eat breakfast, get dressed, and then immediately want outside. Pretty basic, I know :)

I am lucky because my daughter sets her alarm to wake up. My oldest 2 are 9 and 11 so they pick out their own clothes. They usually have them picked out the night before. My daughter wakes right up but my son needs some coaxing. They love pop-tarts for breakfast. After they get off to school me and my baby share some oatmeal and dance to Wiggles music or a kids show with music. Then sometimes we take a morning nap together.

Sweeter the berry said...

I am usually up by 650am, my oldest uses an alarm clock and is already leaving for his bus at 705 am. I make a bottle for my baby and get my son his meds (anti-seizure) then I get him brushing his teeth and dressed, send him downstairs to get a drink and watch cartoons. Meanwhile, I am waking my daughter who is hard to wake by the way, and send her to brush her teeth while I get her clothes ready. She gets dressed and her dad takes her to school. My son who is watching cartoons leaves on his bus a little after that. Then I have to feed the baby and toddler usually I have time to shower while they sleep.

My morning routine starts about 45 minutes before my 5 school aged children awaken.I make my coffee,"find my groove" and set the dinette up for an-anything- goes breakfast, complete with glasses for milk/OJ and their flintstones vitamins marking the place settings. As a rule, clothing (including all underclothes) have been approved and laid out the night before. The lunches and backpacks, school supplies, and shoes have also been prepared the night before. Doing this really saves time in my house because once my kids are up, mornings are crazy! I make my kids set out their clothes and bookbags before they go to bed, and my daughter takes her showers at night then puts it up in a ponytail so she can have more time to straighten it in the morning and my son can get a shower (if he showers at night his hair sticks up like porcupine quills...LOL).

My kids hate to sit down and eat ANYTHING in the morning, so I make them breakfast smoothies that they drink as they walk to the bus stop and wait for the bus. I discovered that Capri Sun has enough sugar in it to prevent it from freezing into a solid, unbreakable block, so I just freeze the packets overnight. The next morning I simply smack 2 frozen packages on the edge of the counter a couple times before cutting open the bottoms of the packages and dumping them into the blender on top of two chopped up bananas or a cup of berries of some kind and one package of plain yoghurt then hit the crush button. In less than 2 minutes I have healthy breakfast smoothies that I pour into plastic ziploc bags, insert a straw into it. My kids drink them at the bus stop, then fold the straw in half and put it in the ziploc bag before sealing it up. Breakfast is done, the trash is contained, and they’re ready for a full day of school.

We vary the flavor of Capri Sun, they type of fruit, and sometimes add light flavored yoghurt to get a wide variety of different flavors so they don't have to have the same thing each morning - sometimes they even choose to have icy slushies and we add a couple tablespoons of water and extra fruit instead of yoghurt.

When I'm working, I get up around six, and HOPEFULLY have laid out an outfit the night before. If not, it's a mad scramble for clothes that match. Then I apply my makeup and, if I'm lucky, might even have time for breakfast before running out the door. I don't have any kids, so at least that's easier.

When I'm at my parents' home, my routine starts with the dog coming in and licking me/pawing at me/doing SOMETHING to demand attention at 5:30-6:00 in the morning. Eventually, she leaves me alone and I go back to sleep.

My morning routine consists of waking up at 5:30 a.m., having more morning coffee and waking my children up at 7:00. Although my children are not in school yet, it is important to me to keep a schedule that allows for routine and structure to prepare them for school in the future. Each day, I have my children use the potty as soon as they wake up, I feed them breakfast. After breakfast, I have them brush their teeth.
